1. Introduction
Muddasir Law Professional Corporation (“we,” “us,” or “the Firm”) is a law firm licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and providing legal services in Ontario. We are committed to protecting the privacy of personal information in our care.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information through our website at muddasirlaw.com and in the course of communicating with prospective and current clients. We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable privacy laws.
Where you are or become a client of the Firm, information relating to your legal matter is also protected by our professional duty of confidentiality and, where applicable, solicitor-client privilege. Those protections operate in addition to, and may be broader than, this Privacy Policy (see Section 12).
2. What Is Personal Information
“Personal information” means information about an identifiable individual. It does not include the business contact information of an individual that we collect, use, or disclose solely for the purpose of communicating with that person in relation to their employment or profession.
3. Information We Collect

- your country;
- the contents of your message and any information you choose to share with us about your inquiry or legal matter.
(b) Information collected automatically.
When you visit our website, our analytics provider collects certain technical information through cookies, including:
- your IP address and general (approximate) location;
- your browser type, device, and operating system;
- the pages you view, the time and duration of your visit, and the website or source that referred you.
4. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
(a) to respond to your inquiries and consultation requests;
(b) to carry out conflict-of-interest checks and decide whether we are able to act;
(c) to provide, administer, and manage legal services where you become a client;
(d) to communicate with you about your inquiry, matter, or appointment;
(e) to operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and understand how it is used;
(f) to meet our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations, including those of the Law Society of Ontario.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for mass-marketing or promotional email campaigns.
5. Consent
(a) We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent, except where the law otherwise permits or requires.
(b) By submitting a form, requesting a consultation, or otherwise contacting us, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this Policy.
(c) For website analytics, your consent is implied through the notice provided in this Policy and your continued use of the site, subject to the cookie controls described in Section 6.
(d) You may withdraw your consent at any time on reasonable notice, subject to legal and contractual restrictions, by contacting our Privacy Officer (Section 16). If you withdraw consent, we may be unable to provide some or all of our services.
6. Cookies and Website Analytics
(a) We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our website.
(b) Google Analytics places cookies (small text files) on your device to collect the technical and usage information described in Section 3(b). We use this information in aggregate to improve our content and user experience, and not to identify you personally.
(c) This information is processed by Google on our behalf and may be stored on servers located outside Canada (see Section 8).
(d) You can control or refuse cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the website function.
7. Disclosure of Personal Information
(a) Service providers. We may share personal information with third-party service providers that perform functions on our behalf, such as secure cloud storage, website hosting, and website analytics. These providers are authorized to use personal information only as necessary to provide their services to us.
(b) Legal and professional requirements. We may disclose personal information where required or permitted by law, by court order, or in order to meet our obligations to the Law Society of Ontario.
(c) With your consent. We may otherwise disclose personal information with your consent.
(d) We do not sell or rent personal information to any third party.
8. Storage and Transfers Outside Canada
(a) We store personal information using secure systems. Some of our service providers, including our cloud-storage and analytics providers, may store or process information on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States.
(b) While personal information is in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by courts, law enforcement, and government authorities.
(c) We remain accountable for personal information that we transfer to service providers for processing, and we use contractual or other means to require a comparable level of protection while it is being processed on our behalf.
9. Safeguards and Security
We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including encrypted email, secure cloud storage, restricted access, and professional confidentiality obligations. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please see Section 5 of our Terms and Conditions before sending us sensitive information.
10. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to satisfy our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations, including the file-retention requirements applicable to lawyers in Ontario. When personal information is no longer required, we securely destroy, erase, or de-identify it.
11. Access and Correction
(a) Subject to certain exceptions, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request correction of any inaccuracies.
(b) To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer (Section 16). We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
(c) We may need to verify your identity before responding. In limited circumstances we may be unable to provide access — for example, where the information is subject to solicitor-client privilege, would reveal personal information about another individual, or where the law otherwise permits or requires us to withhold it.
12. Confidentiality and Solicitor-Client Privilege
Where you are or become a client, information relating to your legal matter is protected by our duty of confidentiality and, where applicable, by solicitor-client privilege under the rules of the Law Society of Ontario. These professional obligations are broader than, and apply in addition to, the protections described in this Privacy Policy.
13. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are directed to businesses and to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
14. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites that we do not operate or control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those websites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
15. Changes to This Policy
